  • A documented reconstruction of your ancestor’s life in Hungary, as well as that of their parents
  • Identification of the place of origin and family environment
  • Analysis of available records, primarily birth and marriage certificates
  • A narrative PDF report including sources and links to the original records

I first verify the availability of sources and the feasibility of the research.
The final report is delivered only after payment is received.

Your family’s story began with someone who made the decision to leave their home, cross borders, and set sail for an unknown continent, without knowing what awaited them on the other side of the ocean.

But where did they come from, and what family did they leave behind?

Through genealogical research in Hungary, your ancestor’s life before emigration becomes visible again.

Sample report: Discover your origins

Below is an example of the type of report you will receive at the end of the research process.

Research in Hungarian Archives

The research is based on original records preserved in Hungary, including parish registers (anyakönyvek) and civil registry records, which were introduced in 1895. Before that year, births, marriages, and deaths were documented exclusively in church registers.

Due to the border changes of the 20th century, some historical localities of the former Kingdom of Hungary today belong to other countries. In addition to civil and parish records, numerous historical Hungarian newspapers have been digitized, allowing the research to be expanded with social context and additional family references.

For this reason, I work directly with original documentation in Hungarian and Latin, conducting genealogical research in Hungary based strictly on primary sources.

What my clients say

  • Zuzana did an amazing job uncovering the truth behind our family legend! Turns out, we’re not related to that famous figure in the Hungarian history after all. It was a shock, but thanks to her, we can now share the true story with our children without perpetuating a fake legend.

  • Without the language and archival knowledge, and the dedication of Zuzana Bodnarova, who supported me in my research, I would have been at a loss. I owe you the utmost gratitude.
